As Divisional Manager of Applemax at Freshmax NZ,  Alex Schenz has been involved in global reefer transports since New Zealand’s  apple exports were deregulated in 2001 and has commissioned shipments on traditional reefer vessels as well as container lines. As Export Manager Europe, Dr. Schenz was initially responsible for establishing a customer base for pip fruit. He has also been involved in other perishable exports, including airfreight. 

Prior to this, Dr  Schenz worked in various marketing functions within Europe, including meat and meat products, vegetable preparations and other primary industry products.  He holds a degree in Agricultural Economics and a PhD in Agricultural trade relations.
