Dermott Crombie was appointed Vice President, Global Marine Solutions in 2004 and is responsible for overseeing Thermo King’s activities and long-term growth in both the container and the genset business globally. Dr. Crombie joined Thermo King in 1987, and has more than 20 years’ experience in the transport temperature control industry.

Previously, he was Director of Engineering for the container business, based at the company’s headquarter in Minneapolis, MN. He began his career with Thermo King in their road transport refrigeration sector, based at their truck and trailer plant in Ireland.

Having earned a primary degree in Electronics Engineering, he was awarded a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, and subsequently a Ph.D., for research in alternative refrigerants. Dr. Crombie also holds an MBA.
