Malcom Dodd is Programme Manager of the Post Harvest Innovation Programme in South Africa, a public/private partnershipwhich has the vision: “To develop an innovative and globally competitive fresh fruit industry which grows the economy, jobs, skills and support services”.

This programme is involved in many projects and initiatives to improve the competitiveness of the South African fruit export supply chain. There are some interesting innovations in the incubator at present. Mr Dodd is also an Associate Professor in the Department of Horticulture at the University of Stellenbosch. This position is closely associated with the Department of Science and Technology funded Chair of Post Harvest Technologies also based at the University of Stellenbosch. Through this facility, research is being conducted on various engineering, biological and systems within the cold supply chain.
